Saint George and the Dragon
Stock No: 000679
Reference: Unrecorded Victorian example after Enoch Wood.
A magnificent and well coloured Victorian figure of St George on a rampant horse with the dragon at the horses feet. This figure was possibly made using the original Enoch Wood mould some thirty years after it was made. The similarity between this and a pearlware example that has been recorded are almost identical. This figure is very rare and one of the most complicated and detailed Victorian figures ever constructed and quite possibly unique. Victorian example C 1840.
