A Bactrian Camel

Stock No: 000914

Height: 7 Inches / 18 cm

Reference: Harding Book 3, Page 260, Fig a2866

One of the rarest of all the Staffordshire animals that the potteries produced is this bactrian camel (two humps), standing facing left on an oval gilt line base, a halter around its mouth and placed between humps, a leather water skin rests on the grassy ground beneath its feet. This figure is in perfect condition with no damage, repairs or restoration. Harding’s description is incorrect as a dromedary camel only has one hump.
