A very rare standing Victorian cricketer, the bowler is standing beside his wicket with a ball in hand, a bat rests against the stumps, dressed in orange cap, patterned shirt with tie, and trousers, a belt around his waist, his blue coat stands to his side side. There has been much discussion as to the identity of these cricketing figures, but no source has ever been found, it was common for the captain of the team to be depicted holding bat and ball, apart from that no attribution can be made. This medium size cricketer is one of the hardest to locate and secure among sporting related figures, it is a very desirable piece. It was made in Staffordshire, England in the 1860’s. At the time of writing we hold the pair to this figure in stock.
