A lovely quality large Crimean war figure of an English sailor and boy,  standing on a gilt lined base, the boy with his right arm to his side holding a hat, his left across his chest, wearing a jacket, neckerchief, shirt, and trousers, the sailor with his right arm to his side resting on the boy’s head, his left raised holding a toy boat on his shoulder, wearing a brimmed hat, jacket, neckerchief, shirt, and trousers, a bag hanging from his shoulder. This figure can be found titled in a number of ways, ‘Begging Sailor’, ‘Sailor’ or with no title. One of the best Crimean war figures produced in Staffordshire, England c1854. This figure is in original condition with no damage, repairs, or restoration.
