An excellent antique Staffordshire pottery pearlware figure group of Dandies. The pair are modelled standing on a square black lined and coloured base, richly decorated with bright overglaze enamels. This Dandies group are particularly good-looking, comical in character and in good condition. They are one of the larger and more imposing type, c.1810-30. In Myrna’s words,  “Dandy figure groups ooze personality” and this example is no exception. Although some of the groups utilise closely similar moulds, slight differences in placement or painting impart unique characteristics that allow each group to exude its own personality. This pair was originally made without a bocage.

Current Condition: Professional and invisible restoration to both necks.
