A very rare original Victorian Staffordshire figure of a right facing Springer Spaniel. This large dramatic striking model has been described by Mr Pope as a Welsh Springer Spaniel full of expression and action and dating to c1850. One of the most sought after of all Victorian mantle dogs because of its size, this canine will not disappoint to enhance a well discerned collection. The figure has been professionally and invisibly repaired to a very high standard. It is difficult to get a sense of scale with this figure, the last picture has a fine pair of Irish setters in the background to help.
