A fine standing boy holding a puppy in both hands made by the John Walton pot bank. This well executed figure is typical of Walton quality, a full bocage acts as a fine backdrop to this delightful boy at work, possibly a young shepherd. He stands bare footed wearing a shirt, jacket and knee high trousers, a young dog leaping into his arms. This example is in remarkable condition having two minor bocage leaf tip professionally restored. Marked Walton to the back, this figure was made in Staffordshire, England c1820.
