An unusual fine quality antique Staffordshire figure of a standing young man holding his hat. This richly decorated figure stands on a well coloured round base highlighted with a gold edge, standing bare headed beside a tree with applied bocage sprigs, wearing a shirt with necktie, long frock coat, breeches, stockings, and shoes, in his right hand he holds a wide brimmed hat commonly associated with males in the Quaker community. The figure has a professional repair to the right hand, no other repairs or restoration. Made in Staffordshire, England c1840.
