A lovely figure of an English sailor and French soldier standing on a round gilt lined base. The sailor is standing with his left hand raised holding a flag, his right arm resting on his hip, wearing a boater, jacket, neckerchief, shirt and trousers, an anchor is by his right leg. To the other side of the figure stands a French soldier with his right hand raised holding a flag, his left hand resting on his hip, wearing a hat, tunic with epaulettes and trousers, a sash across his chest, a pile of cannonballs by his left leg. This figure was made during the Crimean War c1854, it is original condition with no damage, repairs, or restoration.
