A very rare figure of Archbishop Thomas Cranmer at the stake, on a titled coloured base with black transfer capitals which reads ” ARCHBISHOP CRANMER, Burned at Oxford, March 21 1556. Cranmer is tied to the post with a chain around his waist, while praying, all around he is engulfed in flames. This figure is in the same series as Bishop Ridley and Bishop Latimer. This figure is decorated in the manner of the Thomas Parr factory and was made c1856, probably to coincide with the 300 year anniversary of his death. The figure is in very good condition having an invisible professional repair to both wrists.
