A very fine portrait bust of Maria Foote as Venus. “Venus” is painted on the reverse of the figure as you can see by turning the bust around with our 360 degree viewing facility. On December 26 1832, Miss Foote debuted as Venus in Paphian Bower, or Venus and Adonis. This example has an unusual silver lustre marbled effect on a round base. A beautiful bust of a famously beautiful actress and performer in perfect condition with no damage,  repairs or restoration.
