A superb example and very rare figure of Charles Hadden Spurgeon standing on a titled base with raised gilt capitals, his right arm raised, pointing upward, his left across his chest, a pillar to his left on which sits a closed book, wearing a long black jacket, bow tie, waistcoat, and trousers. This example of Spurgeon is extremely rare and in remarkable condition considering the vulnerable and exposed nature of the right arm, just the end of the pointed finger has been professionally restored, no other damage or repairs, the black jacket is in a rich underglaze black, it was made in Staffordshire c1860’s.
