A superb example and very rare figure of Charles Hadden Spurgeon standing on a titled base with raised gilt capitals, his right arm raised, pointing upward, his left across his chest, there is a pillar to his left on which is placed a closed book, wearing a long dark blue jacket, bow tie, waistcoat, and trousers. This is the only recorded example of Spurgeon in an underglaze cobalt blue jacket. This figure has a professional invisible restoration to the top right arm, it was made in Staffordshire c1860’s.
