This fine pottery figure of a horse and riders is modeled standing on an oblong stepped base. The underglaze-oxide Prattware type colours are sponge decorated on the horse and base with black, yellow, and green. The male rider is modeled wearing a flat hat, his attire coloured in a rich blue and orange, his companion holds a basket, her dress with spotted decoration. This large coloured equestrian group is a scarce version of its type and is attributed to a North East Pottery in Yorkshire, England c1800.

Current Condition: Professionally repaired.
