A fine and rare figure of Daniel O’Connell standing on a shaped gilt lined base, his left hand leaning on a pedestal, his right arm across his chest holding a scroll, wearing a top hat, long jacket, cravat, and trousers. He was an Irish activist who fought the then prime minister Sir Robert Peel against the Union of Britain and Ireland. This figure has an invisible professional repair at the neck, and chip to hat, no other damage, repairs, or restoration. Made in Staffordshire, England c1840.
