Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Stock No: 000769
Height: 5.5 Inches / 14 cm
Reference: Possibly Unrecorded
An unrecorded diminutive figure of Jean Jaques Rousseau standing at ease on an oval yellow lined base, he wears a wig tied at the back into a ponytail, his right hand holding a manuscript his left resting on his chest, four book volumes are piled one on top of the other at his feet while a large encyclopaedia rests behind him. He wears a jacket, waistcoat, breeches, and stockings. This figure is similar to the only other standing recorded Rousseau, (Please see illustration) that figure pairs with Shakespeare so one would assume that this figure could possibly have a Shakespeare pair. The existing Rousseau gives it a positive attribution. See Harding Book 1, page 122, fig 300.
