A fine figure of Jenny Lind as Marie stands bare-headed on a rectangular titled base with indented gilt capitals, wearing a necklace, bodice, and flounced skirt, with both hands together she is holding a piece of sheet music. The Daughter of the Regiment (La Figlia del Reggimento), a comic opera in three Acts by Donizetti, has proved to be the inspiration of several ‘Jenny Lind’ figures. This example is in mint perfect condition and was made in Staffordshire, England by the Alpha factory c1847.
