A very rare and well-coloured Staffordshire figure of Horatio Lord Nelson standing beside a ship in full sail thought to represent his flag ship ‘Victory‘, his right sleeve tucked into his jacket, his left to his side holding a sword, wearing a tunic with epaulettes and trousers, a sash across his chest. This figure is in perfect condition having no damage, repairs, or restoration, it is the best coloured example I have ever come across despite being late out of the mold. It was made c1845 and would pair with a mirror image portrait figure of Napoleon standing beside one of his flag ships, possibly the ‘Orient’ or the ‘Bellerophon.’
