An exceptional quality Staffordshire pottery lead-glazed earthenware figure of a mother and child before a tree bocage. This example is wonderfully decorated in overglaze enamel colours and illustrates a seated woman with her daughter. This affectionate moment of play captures the essence of the subject perfectly. Attributed to the “Patriotic Group” pot bank, made c1830.

Current Condition: Professional repair at child’s neck, and two bocage tips restored.
