A figure of Napoleon standing by a pillar with his arms folded, wearing a cocked hat, jacket with epaulettes, waistcoat, trousers, and knee boots. This figure is part of a tryptic, Nelson and Wellington should stand either side of him, they are noticeably taller but the pillar on all three figures is the same size, emphasising Napoleons small stature. They fall into a category of figures I call ‘Alpha Type’. This example has had a professional invisible repair to the neck and dates to c1848.
