Prince Albert

Stock No: 001328

Height: 9 Inches / 23 cm

Reference: Similar to Harding Second Addendum, Page 52, Fig 477A (possibly unrecorded)

A superb and very rare figure possibly of Prince Albert or his brother Ernest II Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. He is bareheaded and wears shirt, waistcoat, jacket, and trousers. His right hand is held to his chest, his left hand is resting to his side and holds a pair of yellow gloves. This figure is slightly different in design to the one Harding illustrates in so far as the arm positions are reversed, the book omitted, and the gloves are introduced. It is clearly from the same series of figures. I would like to suggest they could possibly represent and portray the betrothal of Albert to Victoria in 1839. The figure is in mint perfect condition having no damage, repairs, or restoration.
