A very rare titled pair of figures The Prince of Wales and Princess Royal, the first two children born to Queen Victoria. Both standing by cushioned tables, the Prince with his right hand to his side holding a hat, his left resting on the top of a toy boat. He wears a jacket, neckerchief, waistcoat, and trousers. The Princess has her left hand to her side holding a hat, her right holds a bird, she wears a blouse, skirt, and pantaloons. The base with impressed gilt titles Prince and Princess, a characteristic of the Alpha factory. Both with invisible professional repairs. Made in Staffordshire, England c1845
