Stock No: 001821

Height: 9.75 Inches / 25 cm

Reference: Harding Book 1, Page 297, Fig 1079

A very rare figure of Richard III seated in a tent, on a titled base with gilt script, he is wearing an ermine lined cloak with jerkin underneath, a garter on his leg. The source of this figure is based on a painting by William Hogarth entitled the ‘Nightmare scene’ of David Garrick in the role of Shakespeare‘s Richard III in 1745. This figure can be found in four different sizes, the smaller versions being common. This large example is far superior in quality and extremely difficult to find titled. It is in perfect condition having no damage, repairs, or restoration. Made in Staffordshire, England c1850.
