Height:  9.75 Inches / 25 cm

Reference: Harding Book 1, Page 121, Fig 299

A superb group figure of Nicholas Ridley and Hugh Latimer at the stake on a titled base with black transferred capitals and inscription, both praying with their hands together, surrounded by bundles of wood ablaze with flames. The title reads RIDLEY AND LATIMER followed with the inscription, ‘Be of good comfort, Master Ridley, and play the man, we shall this day light such a candle, by God’s grace, in England, as I trust, shall never be put out’. One of the Thomas Parr factory’s most dramatic and well modelled figures, it rarely comes onto the open market. This example is in restored condition having had a professional and invisible restoration to both sets of hands and the stake top, no other losses or damage, c1850’s.
