Stock No: 001362

Height: 7.25 Inches / 18.5 cm

Reference: Harding Book 1, Page 245, Fig 871

A fine figure of a sailor standing by a roped bollard, his right arm leaning on a ship bollard, his left hand tucked into his shirt, and his right holding a clay pipe,  wearing a brimmed hat, jacket, neckerchief, shirt and trousers. This figure can be found in three different sizes, this being the largest. The figure is decorated in the Scottish style and may well originate from one of the Scottish manufacturers or a North Eastern pottery, it was once part of the P. D. Gordon Pugh collection and still retains the label to the underside, c1850’s.
