A superb and very rare original Victorian Staffordshire figure of Sir George Cathcart on horseback on a titled base with raised gilt capitals, his right hand resting on his leg, his left arm across his waist, wearing a plumed hat, tunic with epaulettes, breeches, and knee boots, a sash around his waist. This figure is described by Harding as extremely rare and his illustration, the only model of Cathcart known, well coloured, is the very figure used for his illustration, I am pleased to have located it for my stock, c1854. Professional invisible repair to the underside.
