A lovely early example of a Pearlware figure of St John made by John Walton. One of a set of four figures representing the Gospels of the New Testament, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. Saint John can be found sandalled standing on a titled base holding a large scroll in his left hand, his right raised holding a chalice. He wears a long robe, tied at the waist, a scarf over his shoulders, with a full magnificent bocage. The figure is marked Walton to the rear of the base.
