A rare unidentified standing figure, possibly an actor playing the role of Conrad, a pirate chief from Byron‘s poem ‘The Corsair,’ played in an Victorian melodrama. Standing on a shaped gilt line base with canted corners, wearing a plumed hat, cloak, gauntlets, breeches and knee-boots. This figure is clearly theatrical but has so far defied a firm identification. The figure has a professional repair to the neck. Made in Staffordshire, England c1845 by the Alpha factory.
