A fine figure of the Prince of Wales and his dog, standing on a titled gilt lined base with raised gilt capitals, his right arm to his side holding a plumed hat, his left hand to his side, a red and white hound to his left, wearing a jacket, kilt, sporran, and chequered socks, a scarf across his chest. Edward VII was known to have had many breeds of dog throughout his life. This example is well decorated with particularly well defined detail to the kilt and having the desirable application of cobalt blue underglaze to the jacket. Made in Staffordshire, England c1860, this figure is in original condition having no damage, repairs, or restoration.
