A very rare Victorian Staffordshire Spill vase figure facing right of a crouching leopard on a rococo gilt lined decorative arched base. Probably the rarest of all the leopard figures produced in the Potteries during the mid-Victorian period and one of the most desirable being a good representation of the beast. This example has minor professional invisible touches to the overglaze enamels, no other damage, repairs, or restoration. At the time of writing we also hold a matched pair to this figure, stock number 001009 and include a picture of the figures together in the gallery. Made in Staffordshire, England c1855.
