A very rare Staffordshire transfer printed mug with blue transfer pattern to the inside top edge and handle, a lustre glaze over two blue transfers to both sides of the outer body which depicts a football match (perhaps two public schools) with a crowd watching on beside a tented pavilion, c1880. The mug is in perfect condition having no damage, repairs or restoration.
