A fantastic and very very rare Staffordshire figure group of a Welsh farmer and his wife, fresh to the market and in great condition, she is standing dressed in traditional Welsh attire, in her left hand she holds a basket while her right arm is to her side, she wears a shawl, long skirt and has a tall Welsh hat on. He also stands in long overcoat and breaches holding a full basket of produce and wearing a wide primed Welsh hat, c1850’s. Please look at the picture of the print which was the source and inspiration the potters used to make the figure. Simply fantastic!
