A Figure of a Brigand Fra Diavolo
Stock No: 000651
Height: 10.5 Inches /27 cm
Reference: Alison Morgan Dudson Staffordshire Figures c.1815-c.1865, Page 44, Fig 59
A fine standing huntsman or brigand with ribboned hat, possibly representing Michele Pezza from the Opera Fra Diavolo. He stands wearing a jacket and breeches, a cloak is over his right shoulder. He rests his right hand on a tree stump. Referred to by Pugh as Massaroni but called “Brigand” in the Dudson ledger. A magnificent example full of the Dudson colour palette.
