A Fine Pair of Jockeys

Stock No: 001598

Height:  8.5 Inches / 22 cm

Reference: Harding Second Addendum, Page 337, Fig 3316/3317

A very rare and well modelled pair of mounted jockeys, both dressed in cap, shirt with tie, and riding breeches; one hand is on the saddlecloth and the other holds the reins on the horse’s flank, the other is a near mirror image. There are many versions of left and right facing jockeys, they can come in graduated sizes and are thought to represent Fred Archer. These examples are by far superior in modelling detail, and decoration, they were made by the Thomas Parr factory in the 1860’s. Both figures are in superb condition, no repairs or restoration.
