A rare, appealing and much sought after rabbit figure facing left and eating green leaves. Original Staffordshire pottery circa 1855. This figure is very well modelled with a separately moulded left ear and decorated in underglaze black patches and overglaze enamel colours. Rabbits are perhaps the most decorative and charming figure groups to emerge from the Staffordshire potteries in the Victorian period. An excellent example in very good condition having a minor chip to the ear end professionally restored.
