A superb example of an original Dudson early Victorian Staffordshire figure at its best,  known as ‘The Piper’. Standing on a well coloured green, brown, and gilt lined shaped base, with both hands raised holding a form of bag pipe, wearing a hat, long sleeved shirt, waistcoat jacket, trousers, and boots. This example is in original condition with a minor restoration to the mouth piece of the instrument and tip of pipe in his left hand. Made in Staffordshire, England by the Dudson factory c1835-40.
