A large figure of Colonel John Peard standing cross-legged on a titled gilt lined base with raised gilt capitals, his right hand resting on his hip, his left resting on a pillar, holding a sword, a cannon below, a flag to his right, wearing a tunic, breeches, and stockings, a sash across his chest. This figure is part of a tryptic, Garibaldi stands to one side and a pocket watch holder group depicting them both with flags is the centre piece. This example is in original condition with no damage, repairs, or restoration and was made c1860.
