An interesting group figure of two men seated at a barrel, the man on the left wearing a cap, neckerchief, coat, and trousers while his left elbow rests on the barrel which is used as a table. The man on the right is dressed in cap, coat, waistcoat, jacket and trousers while smoking a pipe and reading a newspaper, the headline of which is ‘War’, possibly referring about the start of the Crimean War. Made in Staffordshire, England, by the Thomas Parr factory c1854. This example is in excellent condition, minor touches to the green jacket.
