A superb monumental 14.5 inch high figure of Giuseppe Garibaldi  standing by his horse on a titled coloured base, with black transferred capitals, his right hand resting on the mane of the horse, his left holding a sword, wearing a red shirt and belted trousers. This figure comes in two different sizes and was first produced by the Thomas Parr factory, Staffordshire c1861, it is of exceptional quality, in very good restored condition having a professional invisible repair to the sword and left hand and ears on the horse, no other repairs or restoration, simply fantastic. The source of the figure was first published as an engraving titled ‘General Garibaldi’ in the supplement to ‘The Illustrated London News‘ on the 16th January 1861.
