A figure of a sailor seated, a Greenwich Hospital pensioner, his right arm leaning on a table holding a jug, his left raised to his chest holding a mug, his right leg missing and replaced with a peg, wearing a hat, jacket, shirt, neckerchief, breeches, and stocking. The source for the figure has been found titled ‘The Sailor, safely moored in Greenwich Hospital.’ This figure was made in Staffordshire, England by the Alpha factory c1850, it is in good condition having a professional repair to the side of the base.
