A spill vase Staffordshire group figure of Henry VIII and Ann Boleyn on a well coloured base, his left arm around her waist, his right on his left leg which is crossed over his right, wearing a plumed hat, ermine lined jacket, tunic, and breeches, her right hand resting above a well, her left holding a basket, wearing a bodice and skirt with apron. A theatrical figure based on William Shakespeare‘s play ‘All is True’ and performed throughout the Victorian period in many theatres up and down the country. A rare and desirable figure in perfect condition, made in Staffordshire, England c1860.
