Jenny Lind as Maria in ‘La Figlia Del Regimento’

A superb example of Jenny Lind in the role of Maria in ‘La figlia del regimento’. She is standing on titled shaped base with  gilt script, holding her hand to her hat wearing waistcoat, jacket, and ankle-length skirt. Our illustration is a coloured print of Jenny Lind, the source of this figure from a music front by John Brandard, for Jullian’s celebrated Polkas No 16. This figure is one of the finest example I have seen from this factory, often mis-described as emanating from the Alpha factory, this is incorrect. This example is in perfect condition with no damage or repairs, just very minor touches to the overglaze enamel on her dress, it is stunning. Made  in Staffordshire, England c1848.
