A very rare and well modelled figure of a mounted jockey, dressed in cap, shirt with tie, and riding breeches; one hand is on the saddle-cloth and the other holds the reins on the horse’s flank. There are many versions of left and right facing jockeys, they can come in graduated sizes and are thought to represent Fred Archer. This example is by far superior in modelling and decoration, it was made by the Thomas Parr factory c1860’s.
