A large figure of John Gilpin on horseback jumping over a fence on a titled rococo scrolled base with indented capitals. He has lost his hat, which has fallen on the ground beneath him, and is desperately holding onto the horse which is in full gallop. He wears a cloak, jacket, breeches, and boots. This figure pairs with Tam O’ Shanter. This figure has had professional restoration. Made in Staffordshire, England c1840.
