A fine pair of red and white Staffordshire spaniels or Comforter dogs. These dogs can be found with separately moulded front legs or like these, integrated. They can also be found in a number of different colourways, black and white, white and gilt, all black (Jackfield) and also lustre and white. Made in their thousands, we try to locate the very best examples. This pair are red and white, a  very fine pair indeed, in very good condition, minor touches to the red overglaze enamel. Made in Staffordshire, England c1860’s.
