An extraordinarily rare and fine bust of Father Theobald Mathew the Irish priest and temperance reformer. Beautifully titled in gilt script capitals. Purchased in New York USA this bust was probably made for the Irish/US market and sold as a souvenir during one of his visits to America or taken to the USA by Irish immigrants.
