A lovely pearlware figure of a girl reading a book, she is seated on a low back chair, her arms outstretched holding a large book that is resting on her lap,  her hair has been bunched up in a bun and fixed with a hair comb. Wearing a short sleeved dress and shoes. This example has been well decorated, the flowers on the skirt of the dress are particularly pleasing and the unusual blue base sets off  the bright yellow perfectly. The name to the base is uncommonly titled in black cursive script. This figure was made without bocage c1830. There is a small professional repair to the side of the base, no other damage, repairs, or restoration.
