A most unusual figure depicting two ladies in wedding dresses. A spill vase group of two women standing in front of an arbour on which two birds are perched. The woman on the left wears a hat and full length coat buttoned to the ground. The woman to the right wears a decorated blouse and long coat and dress. She holds a spray of flowers in her hand. It is believed that this figure portrays ‘The Ladies of Llangollen‘ . It has been reported to us that this figure has been seen with the base titled ‘Ladies of Llangollen‘ in gilt script but we have know photographic evidence to back this up. Made in Staffordshire, England c1860. This example has a professional restoration to the left facing lady’s hand, no other damage, repairs, or restoration.
