A very rare pair of figures of The Prince of Wales and Princess Royal seated on chairs, the first two children born to Queen Victoria. Both chairs displaying a crown above, the Prince with his right arm across his waist, his left resting on the chair arm, wearing a shirt and kilt, the Princess with her left hand resting on her hip, her right resting on the chair arm, wearing a blouse, skirt, and pantaloons. Both figures show characteristics of the Alpha factory. Both with invisible professional minor chip repairs. Made in Staffordshire, England c1846. The Prince displaying an old original Oliver Sutton Antiques dealer label to the underside.
