A lovely group watch holder figure of a sailor and his girl standing with a tree between them, the sailor standing with his left hand raised to his head holding a mug, his right across his waist holding a bottle, wearing a brimmed hat, jacket, shirt, neckerchief, waistcoat, and trousers, the girl with her right hand holding a brimmed hat, her left raised to her chest, wearing a long jacket and dress. The watch holder even has a hook in clay to hold the fob chain. This figure probably represents ‘The Sailors Return.’ Made by the Thomas Parr factory in Staffordshire, England c1850.
